Charlotte’s passion for music and drama began at a young age when she created and directed shows for other children in her village. She has since directed shows and performances from Nottingham to New York. After studying music at The University of Leeds, she has been a peripatetic woodwind teacher for Nottinghamshire (specialising in clarinet) and a singing teacher at a performing arts school.
Being a woodwind teacher in schools, she was regularly asked if her pupils could perform in concerts and shows. After numerous performances of her own arrangement of “Peter and the Wolf”, she became frustrated by the lack of new exciting pieces available, which could also be performed within the context of a story or play. She realised her pupils were also hungry for something else – not just performing the same exam pieces over and over again! They wanted something different. Something exciting….
After several years of brain storming and developing ideas with her imaginative pupils,
‘THE CLARIPHANT and THE KAZOOS’ was created. The exciting, original pieces are fun to play and reflect the unique personality of each Instrumal.
